Lounge Against the Machine by Laura
November 28th, 2007 2:29 PM
Since I was out until the wee hours of the morning so as to get into the swing of Polyphasic Sleep at a coffee shop that I enjoy, trying to get imaginary laid, I accidentally left the power cord to my laptop at the coffee shop. This meant that I had to actually go into the office to get electrical juice. This put some cramps into my plans for polyphasic sleep, but seemed like the perfect time to lounge against the machine. If I work hard at home, I should like, not work hard if I'm AT WORK, right? The office was deserted but for me for several hours after I got in. El perfecto!
I contemplated what I would do while lounging against the machine.

I built a tower of office furniture. But it fell down and broke a chair. I mostly fixed it. So I then built a more stable half-ziggurat of office furnture, seen here.

I then peered at the super motivating motivational poster closeby. And I thought "The man on top of the mountain didn't fall there... OR DID HE!!!"

I thought I should share this vision. I looked all around the office for whiteout in which to write this, but I couldn't find any. Anyway, Boone wanted me to go do Seeing Beyond Sight with him. So I went and picked him up, stopped off at Walgreens, bought some whiteout, went and did Seeing Beyond Sight (exciting praxis to come!), and returned to the office. As I was about to write "OR DID HE!!!" on the various motivational posters in whiteout, I realized it would really be a much better thing to carefully make subtle additions to the posters in matching fonts.

We have three different runs of posters with different fonts, so I spent time finding good matching fonts for each. I haven't actually affixed them to the posters yet, as I have no paste or other subtle fixative on hand. Plus I think I might be able to fit that into an altogether different task. But eventually, my day of lounging will bring TRUE inspiration not just to me, but to the sad corporate drones who must see these posters and be victims of the Crisis!
Oh, and I tried to photocopy my ass, but the angles were just wrong and I thought I might break another chair or the copy machine if I didn't have someone to hold onto me. I don't think the little copier we have should actually bear the weight of a full human.

The first picture alone deserves the vote.
