Fight the Future by Sparrows Fall, Evil Sugar
June 11th, 2008 12:09 PM
All the signs indicated that the visitors were from the future. They were wrapped in special future foil, and the clock said that June 7th was a Monday, but in 2008, June 7th was a Saturday.
One minute later, the cyborg gummies disappeared, leaving their future clock behind.

Sparrow and Evil Sugar examined the clock. The Yellow Team also took a close look at the clock.

They determined that it was HIGHLY DANGEROUS. Clearly the cyborg future gummies were trying to attack the present!
It was time to . . . .FIGHT THE FUTURE!

The first step was to remove the futuristic foil that covered the clock. Underneath was a dark and terrible secret. The clock came from. . . Radio Shack!

They had already guessed that the clock was evil and dangerous, but seeing the Radio Shack logo confirmed it.
Sparrows Fall, Evil Sugar, and the Yellow Team worked together and quickly dismantled the clock:

The clock was disassembled! The world was safe!
But wait! We had thoroughly dismantled the clock, but was it destroyed? The cyborg gummies that brought the clock were clearly highly advanced creatures -- surely they had the technology to reassemble the parts.
More destruction was required.
We decided to use a hammer.*
Hammering things was fun, so we selected another key component to destroy, and hammered that also.
Next up, the very heart of the beast - the motherboard.
It resisted destruction! Of course the cyborg gummies would use their advanced future technology knowledge to protect this, the core of their evil machine.
We would have to use different tools.
Success! The clock was destroyed. Sparrow and Evil Sugar were a formidable team. They fought the future -- and won.

* NOTE: Evil Sugar and Sparrows Fall are trained professionals, and fought the future in a controlled environment. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.**
** NOTE: Actually, do try this at home. Just don't blame us if things go horribly horribly wrong.

jesus you two are a fantastic team. the best team ever, some might say. so prolific!
Yeah, that motherboard material is tough. I've had them resist sledgehammers and even splitting axes before. (Though the latter not for long.)
Dude. Splitting axes. Is this in a praxis somewhere?
"NOTE: Actually, do try this at home. Just don't blame us if things go horribly horribly wrong."
I wish more things said this...
Really, I think all of SFØ should probably say this...
From now on, I encourage everyone to imagine that this disclaimer is attached to all of my praxes that I haven't disclaimed differently.
This applies retroactively.
NOTE: Actually, do try this at home, and remember, if things do go horribly wrong, there are other tasks to complete that can turn that tragedy into more wonder and magic for all of us....
(just don't do something stupid and die in a riptide)
How can I not vote?
