it's a device designed to combat the alienation of modern life by creating the illusion of smaller spaces within everyday circumstances. it's a cure for agoraphobia. it fights artificiality with artificiality.

its also some reading glasses that i duct taped to cookie tins and spray painted :)

the glasses bring things that are close to you closer and makes things further away more indistinguishable. this tends to focus the attention of the wearer on closer objects.
the tin headphones generally reduce the range of hearing, and create their own white noise.

vote for the fact that your knees and the swatches alternate in a checkered pattern when collapsed.

maybe misuse isn't the right word.
reuse? reappropriation? recuperation?

i dunno. i liked the alliteration.

it seems like more people could either be good or bad. on one hand, the possibility for increased perspectives is a definite plus. but you'd have to come up with consistent methods of communication to keep your movements in line with your respective desires. the group dynamic aspect would be an interesting problem.

the vast majority of completions for the task have been solo, attesting perhaps to the inherent difficulties of that setup.

but yeah, the suggestions you gave would probably help. and people should try.

and you get my vote for the bubbles.

oh, fafsa.

you prohibit us from receiving aid if we have criminal citations that are drug related, but did you ever take into account all the drugs we have to take to fill you out?
