I've just been to see a friend down south for a couple of days. The first night I got there we went to a music night at a local bar (which my friend played at).
Before she was on though there was a sole performer named Dani Groombridge playing.
She looked pretty confident and had reason to be - she had an amazing voice and played both guitar and piano beautifully (although not at the same time sadly... :p)
When she had finished, she came over to me and asked if I wanted a plectrum back which I had lent to her (as she'd forgotten to bring one), I told her I'd be honoured if she kept it.
"Can I tell you something that might sound a little weird?" I asked hesitantly.
"Sure," she replied uncertainly.
"Your set was beautiful, your music makes me feel complete," I offered.
She stopped a moment trying to gauge if I was being genuine, when a big smile appeared across her face. I noticed up close that she had pocked skin and wore braces. It's funny because I know a bit about confidence and stage presence, but it was only when she was up close that I realised just how nervous and unsure she was of herself.
"Thanks very much," she replied "it really means a lot."
We made some nice talk and then she left to get back to her boyfriend. It was at this point I realised I'd forgotten to ask her whether she had a website so I could share her songs with you guys. I didn't really want to just follow her now though - my compliment could be construed as being creepy easily enough as it was - I didn't want to give her any reason to doubt my genuinity.
About three quarters of an hour later, when my friend had played her set, I saw the two of them talking and decided this would be a good time to jump in and ask her. The second I asked (pen and paper ready) she handed me a business card which she later said she had been planning on giving me.
"You have business cards?" I asked incredulously,
"Don't be too impressed," she replied, "I got them for free off the internet!"
She was a lovely person who played lovely music. I'm glad this task gave me an excuse to talk to her. You can listen to her

On account of this praxis, I invite you to join Team LØVE.
oh, and i accidentally invited MonkeyBoy Dan too. He can join if he wants, on account of my optimism.
Morpheus: How is he?
Tank: Ten hours straight. He's a machine.
