INSTRUCTIONS: Destroy a piece of your past.

I got to thinking about what part of my past I could destroy and couldn't really come up with anything. It wasn't so much for a lack of anything to destroy. Rather an abundance of the stuff.

A little information for you first...

I am a hoarder. I have been brought up always holding onto things, attaching meaning and significance to things that don't really matter. Consequently this has always led to me holding onto the past and deifying memory.

WELL ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Last week I read something somewhere (I'm pretty remiss for not remembering) that read:
"If you only concern yourself with the present, in the future you'll never have cause to regret the past."

I liked that, it rang very true with me.

I kind of forgot about the task for an hour or two whilst trying to figure out something to destroy, and was checking out other Player's completed tasks when I came across one which inspired me (revealed further below!). The inspiration?

CLOTHES

For some inexplicable reason, I hoard clothes more than anything else. I've literally got a drawer full of things I haven't worn for years and years. As suggested above, I believe this has to do with my fear of letting go of the past. Time to deal with that running...

I delved into my drawers, picked a favourite t-shirt from my past and got to work...

Old View of the T - Shirt
The T Shirt is laid out to meet its fate.
Snip sniperoo!
The offensive design
be as you are
a reminder of one of the reasons I loved this shirt so much...
I started cutting the t-shirt into strips
the strip pile grew bigger...
and bigger...
when I had finished cutting the shirt into strips...
the rope just got longer and longer...
...and ended up quite long!
each row here is a metre long...
I attached the end of my shirt-rope to my balcony...
... and tied a box of matches to the other end.
NPC Cadwell was on hand to lower down the shirt-rope
further...
...and further...
almost there...
reaching the ground exactly!
After giving the shirt one more useful outing...
...I set fire to it...
the fire rages on!
Five minutes later it was still smoldering...
later on, nothing was left.
another interesting use of old t-shirts...

You only get 2 votes because you've made it sound boring written down compared to our converstion about it. You might think about doing more descriptive videos if you can avoid using evil windows movie maker.
