Dimensional Leakage by Professor Møbius, Tirius Aerodominus

June 2nd, 2010 7:00 PM / Location: 38.701971,-121.2972

INSTRUCTIONS: Obtain a plaque from the past, future, or an alternate dimension that commemorates the historical significance of a public place or object (statue, park bench etc.). Install and observe.

"IN HONORED MEMORY, CAPTAIN TOM GOBBLEBEARD" the plaque reads, that is now mounted in close proximity to the new Mesa Verde gym. We believe the recently erected building may be the reconstructed trans-dimensional remains of the illustrious captain's ship, the R.F.S. Gymnasius, after the League of Ninjas sabotaged it during their brief battle above the school.

During our (Myself and Tirius') time there, we managed to coerce an innocent bystander into posing with our plaque, as well as watching people walk past, either largely ignoring it, or staring at it confusedly. While we were mounting it, a number of basketball players from within the gym peeked out through windows, very confusedly; we believe they may be working for the League of Ninjas, due to their attempts at stealthiness and their looks of confusion (everyone knows ninjas don't understand the motives and actions of normal robo-turket-pirate loving people).

We shall check back on it in a few days to see how it's going.

Plaque, pre-post

Plaque, pre-post

I'd just printed the plaque and was getting ready to head out. Original copy said 'Memroy'. Captain Gobblebeard would be ashamed, the spelling-nazi he was.

Plaque, posted

Plaque, posted

We posted the plaque on a power-box next to what we believe are the remains of Captain Gobblebeard's ship the R.F.S. Gymnasius, which have since been converted into a gym.

Plaque, with scenery

Plaque, with scenery

The plaque, after having been posted, as we all waited with breath a-baited, to see if it would stay. It did.

Collaborators, with plaque

Collaborators, with plaque

Myself (Mobius, right) and my cohort (Tirius, left) standing with our plaque. We are deeply revert followers of Captain Gobblebeard's anti-ninja campaign.

Plaque with Innocent Bystander

Plaque with Innocent Bystander

We coerced an innocent bystander (Sarah) into standing with our plaque. She didn't know what pose to strike, so she just kind of confused at the camera. She must have been turned by the ninjas, because she didn't know of Captain Gobblebeard...

As of this morning, the plaque is still there. Also, I said innocent bystander. She was fairly resistant to our pleas to help us, and thus was coerced.

Edit: As of this morning (June 4th, 2010), the plaque was still in place. Polymer clay has impressive holding ability... Asked some students to get pictures of people posing with it. Post them soon.
