Any day you can work the Log Song into something is a good day.....
Ah, that loverly Milwaukee downtown construction traffic. This may be hard to believe, but it was actually *worse* before the construction. The interchange was designed as the first project of a highway engineering grad right out of school and subsequently became the perfect example of how to NOT design a freeway interchange. No really, it's in the textbooks now. I lived a block away from that interchange for 2 years, and many was the night I couldn't sleep or was awakened in the morning by the dulcet tones of the ER vehicles as they went to that hour's accident in the interchange.....
I don't know what to say! I was laughing so hard the office manager came back to my desk to make sure I was ok....... That is completely awsome (like the hot dog)!
I don't know what I can do to help, but I certainly will stand up for my adopted home! That is to say that I will stand in Daley Plaza on the 18th and proclaim my support, I'm too broke to go to San Fran....
And sadly enough, I do know the dance of the 7 veils, or a close recreation taught to me by a very old burlesque dancer who learned it on exotic travails...so I can teach Dax how to do it for purposes of authenticity and a desire to have a front row seat for it.
Hmm, I suppose that might work. You'd have to have separate strings attached to each veil in order to remove them in the right order..... Ye Gods, now I've got the mental image of a harlequin puppet doing this as a viral video... The curse of having a very visual mind. And oddly enough, the veils are removed in the reverse order from what most people would think. I could probably teach you in a few hours, you're pretty bendy.
Love this picture of you.
I will be taking pictures on a weekly basis, or thereabouts, of how it progresses. My hope is that by next spring the chairs and table will be completely covered and possibly able to support weight. I also have plans for shelves and mirrors attached to the fence, and even though you can't really see it in these pictures, there are two hanging lamps on either side of the table and two tiki sconces on either side of the chairs. I want it to look like a living room set made out of vines...
I didn't know if this would count as the framework that I'm using is artificial, but I figured if it didn't someone would point it out tout suite.

I found the pattern on knitty.com. Even the pattern was more of a guideline as the instructions for creating the bark pattern were 'insert random knit and purl stitches to create the bark pattern'. So I used a declining fractal equation on one side and a random number generator for the other. I was part of a SnB that's kind of defunct now, I need to get into another one.
