I quite like that I got "Love" the first time I looked at it and "Fool" the second.

It seems appropriate.

Well, that depends. I for one will be ignoring the curvature of the earth. Too much digging.

The uprising? AGAIN!?!

We used to play this all day with other people's trolleys at the supermarket... Bags would be... Harder. But fun.

Hey Lincoln - don't you DARE stop criticizing praxi. When I was starting out on SF0 your little gems of wisdom were one of the things that kept me going, and trying to craft a better complete... In a very real way this praxis wouldn't have been made without YOU (because I wouldn't have submitted this task is why ;->).

And I can see why you might want to make something that is unique to you, but funnily enough it's intended to work the opposite way in it's original cultural context... The Maori used to be VERY tribal (never considered themselves one "people" until after colonisation), and warlike (they won just about every battle they ever fought against the British, but wiped each other out because the europeans sold them guns - good job guys. The point of the Mihi was to make connections between individuals visiting other tribes, and basically give you an excuse for not killing the other guy. The full formal ones listing specific ancestry can go on for 5 or 6 hours and are considered somewhat Tapu (you aren't really meant to let historians write them all down from what I understand... though I'm not Maori myself, so take that with a grain of salt).

If you AND that guy there both belong to the mountain you can't fight see...

IS there ANY way to place a banana in a tree such that it doesn't look vaguely pornographic? Maybe it's just me.

Fiendishly difficult, given the scope of the game ;-). Very nicely done... Oh, and the music is JUST mocking enough when you're having trouble...

A zero level complete of this task. I decided to write a postcard to my grandfather, apologising for not being in touch recently. I haven't contacted him since my Grandmother's funeral at the start of this year. I've been feeling a bit guilty about this, as I WAS going down to see them every few weeks for the year or so she was sick... Lately it's seemed like other things were more important, but you never really know when someone's going to go, and he's getting on...

I both agree and disagree about words and emotions. The thing you come to realize when learning / teaching languages is the extent to which language, and KNOWING the words actually influences how you perceive the emotions. I truly couldn't tell you if I felt Natsukashisa until I had the concept and the word for it...

But then, at the same time, you come across words which just so clearly express an emotion (or more often description of the world) which is just so obvious, but which you have never been able to express in your own language. Like "Genki" for example. The average time of vocabulary uptake in a newcomer to Japan is about 2 days. Of course then we butcher it by making "Genk" the noun ("You look full of genk today").

Regarding the maps, I couldn't figure out how to save them in order to colour them using paint or whatever - printing them out really was the easy way to do this one... Google maps really do rock though, and are a lifesaver in Japan with the whole lack of street names etc...

Zero level complete for this task. I spend an hour or so tweeking it, and then realise that it's been done already... Ahh well, it's the enjoyment that counts.
