I decided that for my fortune I wanted to require some action on the part of the discoverer beyond merely finding the notcookie and opening it. My fortune is the video ID in a youtube URL. I chose a DVD box because of convenience. I only realized afterwards the possible pun of putting a youtube URL in a DVD box. I placed the fortune inside an envelope to try and make the moment more special for a potential discoverer. I didn't want it to feel like finding an unwanted box with some numbers and letters scribbled inside it. I wanted them to know they were finding something meant to be found. I placed it next to a utilities box near a caribou coffee. I imagined that since caribou attract a younger crowd than the nearby Home Depot, a discoverer might be more likely to interpret the fortune properly.
