Player Portrait by Ombwah

June 26th, 2011 9:06 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Paint a fellow player - we'd really prefer that you use their player photo as your model, though. Any medium/style, but let us know what you end up doing with it.

When I began this, I thought I would paint maybe the top three players, and I started there, but there were a few pics in the second row that kept drawing my attention, so I attempted those too.

These are watercolor, ball point, and marker with the exception of Zer0gee, who is pencil, crayon, marker and acrylic.

Ideally, each of you will PM me an address, and I will turn these portraits into custom postcards, submit the pics to the comments thread here, and send them to those of you that send me your addresses.

Then, when you receive them, you will post the pics here too, and we will all rejoice!

If you've not been pictured and would like to be, send me a PM and if I can, I will make a similar portrait and postcard for you. I like to make things!

A painty sketchbook

A painty sketchbook

I got three or four portraits from each page, as well as a sketch space and color swatches. Here's the book, mid paint.

Lincoln

Lincoln

Lincoln has changed his portrait since I painted this, and also taken the lead in score ~ Here is portrait of player #1.

Rin Brooker

Rin Brooker

When I began to paint these, Rin was the top of the chart! Her portrait is her tasky gloves, and her name.

Rongo Rongo

Rongo Rongo

Rongo's hands, and my model sketch, too.

Pixie Pie

Pixie Pie

Another to have shifted player pics in the time between my painting and my posting. Pix, rampant.

Babe and Fruit bowl

Babe and Fruit bowl

I like the colors I got out of this one, I was afraid it would turn out like a death portrait, but the tones are nice and warm.

Art Mouse

Art Mouse

I was painting this one when I recognized the character on the mask. I thought it best to include the motto on the right.

Sombrero

Sombrero

Iconic! The name was Sombrero Guy when I did the painting.

Ben Yamiin

Ben Yamiin

Ben Yamiin looks a bit like a creature from beyond in this one, but I still liked the splashy effect at the edges.

Relet

Relet

I couldn't help but doodle the relet guy in the book. I tried to do the original in as few strokes as possible, but going over it in ink changed the profile.

Zer0gee

Zer0gee

You were the toughest of all 0g. Having had my watercolors appropriated by my daughters I had to do you in pencil, marker, crayon, and acrylic. You were hard. With your portrait my set is, for now, complete. I hope you've enjoyed them.
