Side 1 of my JteN 11 Map. I really should have studied it a bit more. I've laid out my basic trajectory in pink. This was the first JteN I've done, but have heard exciting stories of friends' past experiences so was really looking forward to the night.
Signs of Infection?

I decided to head to checkpoint 1A. Upon Arrival I found that a secretive branch of the CDC had set up shop and were scanning us runners for sign of Infection. They didn't tell us what we may have been infected with though... I'm assuming they were scanning us for signs of the T Virus. Being that I'm immune to that particular disease, I was confident I'd be able to continue on without quarantine.
Overconfidence is Key!

Remember when I said I should have studied the map better? After Checkpoint 2A, I failed to discern that what I thought was checkpoint #3 was really #4, and confidently headed north. D'oh! The nice folks at #4 pointed out my mistake and I set out to backtrack the 1 1/2 miles to #3
Life as a Blue

I got split from my herd relatively early and wound up running most of the course by myself. Despite this, I had an absolute blast. I spent my evening sizing up nearly every single passerby for an armband, sneaking through yards and alleys, and running from anyone who looked remotely Red.
Map, Side 2

After having gone to the wrong checkpoint, I managed to make my way the Mile and a half to #3, in under 15 minutes! yay me. But I could feel it in my gut that I wouldn't be allowed to get back to #4 as a Blue. The frequency in which I had to outsmart a Red was near constant at this point, and my legs were beginning to feel a little like spaghetti. Plus, I had to pee for about an hour now and it was getting dire.
Busted!

And then it happened. Making my way back to checkpoint 4 I had to dodge down an alley to escape capture by a couple of Reds. I hid for a decent amount of time and assumed my path was clear so reemerged. As I was rounding the corner I saw a Red step out in front of me >.
Life as a Red

Now I got to experience the night as a feared Red Hunter; stalking from shadow to shadow, laying in wait for unsuspecting prey, and listening to my quarry's desperate pleas for Mercy, MWWAHAHAHahahaha ahem. Despite not gathering a single Blue ribbon, I had a ton of fun chasing folk around.
Finish Line

At around 11:45 I decided to head into the final checkpoint and see if any of my pals were around. They Were! I had beers with friends who I started the Journey with and we swapped stories of our exciting night after we got split up. A fellow Tasker made excellent villain uniforms for the night, they looked Awesome! Well Done, LittleMonk! From start to end, Journey to the End of the Night was amazing. I definitely cannot wait for next year!
