DIY Audio Book by Sam Archer

I thought it would be fun to combine this task with another one, so I decided that once I'd made my audiobook, I would give it away by burying it for a friend along with some kind of thematically appropriate treasure.
After a couple of trial runs I knew that there was no way I'd be able to make it through an entire novel (and no way anybody would want to listen to me read an entire novel), and I began scouring my shelves for good story collections that I could read from. I almost went for a McAuslan story (I even have a can of haggis in my cupboard that would make for a fine buried treasure), but when it came time to try recording myself speaking in a Glasgae accent I lost my nerve and went back to the shelves.

Finally, flipping through a Lovecraft collection, I found the perfect thing. A story about somebody who digs a cursed green amulet out of a cemetery. "The Hound." Could there be a better thing to bury along with a mysterious green amulet? Perhaps even... in a cemetery?

To be continued in another proof that will hopefully be finished soon. In the meantime, enjoy this recording, ideally with the lights off and the door bolted.
