Escape from the Camera by [smedly]

December 22nd, 2007 11:56 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Set the timer on your camera for 2 seconds and hit the shutter button.

Now run. Run!

(Inspired by Escape from the Camera)
2 seconds snow fall

The best escape is an escape that won't be easy for your pursuer to follow. Simply running away seemed too easy, and therefore not actually an escape. I decided to go up, over, and across urban landscape to truly escape. I was surprised what i could accomplish in only 2 seconds. It makes me think that i actually could escape if i really needed to.

my first escape attempt was to escape from a 5 ft wide alley by chimney climbing the two walls. I made it a good 12-15 feet high in each try.

My second escape attempt was to sprint 15 ft then climb over this 10 ft wall.

Half of my body made it over on my 2nd try.

My third escape attempt was the most complicated. First I sprinted 10 feet, avoiding a pothole and broken furniture. Then half-vaulted up wall, then I leaped from the top of the cinderblock wall, across the 5 ft alleyway, and grabbed the roof of the building across the alley. I didn't quite make it up onto the roof in 2 seconds, but in 3 i could have definitely done it.

try number 2, and i very nearly made it up

this makes me think of you as a video game character attempting to beat a puzzle-level where you have to do things in exactly the right order or you die

Nice. You might want to try the Basic Parkour task.
