method one:

as documented in this task, i recently found myself some sweet roof access by climbing on a set of buildings that was about to be destroyed.




in addition to this recently highly successful roof access, i also have a story. a good roof access story.

method two:

in college, there was a dining hall. a huge, brick colonial building, three stories tall.

i discovered during my sophomore year that there was a certain window on the second floor, down an obscure hallway, that led to a ladder that led to the roof.


the roof was flat, and unlike many flat roofs, had neither shingles nor gravel. no, this roof was covered in soft smooth white shiny stuff. when wet, it was slippery like ice. you could slide around on it. the decorative facade of the building meant that the brick walls went up to chest-height, meaning one could slide with no fear.


i spent many a fun evening on that roof. one time, i recruited about 10 people and we all brought sleeping bags and slept up there.

if you had to pee while on the roof, there were always the gutters.

it was great.
