Physical Representation Of A Virtual Occurrence by Mr. Stackhouse, THE WAFFLER, Kevin Snavley, Hope Murphy

February 13th, 2009 7:47 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Create a public or semi-public physical representation of a virtual occurrence.

We had been planning to Rick Roll the school for about a week.
We finally got the ok from staff, and all of the plans figured out by Friday the 13th of February.

In our 6th period Taiko class, we have a student who's very involved with the school and everything. She does announcements and plans pretty much everything, so we told her about Rick Rolling.
The whole class liked the idea of Rick Rolling the entire school.

For those of you who have never heard of Rick Rolling...
Rickrolling is an Internet meme typically involving the music video for the 1987 Rick Astley song "Never Gonna Give You Up". The meme is a bait and switch: a person provides a Web link that he or she claims is relevant to the topic at hand, but the link actually takes the user to the Astley video. The URL can be masked or obfuscated in some manner so that the user cannot determine the true source of the link without clicking. When a person clicks on the link and is led to the web page, he or she is said to have been "Rickrolled" (also spelled Rickroll'd).

So on Friday, Kevin Snavley, Linnea, and Myself, after delivering carnations to people for valentine's day, made our way down to the office. Kevin had the iPod, I had the camera, Linnea had the power.
The rest of the class came to watch.

Linnea does announcements at 1:55. Longest minute ever.

Here it is:

Have a happy Valentine's day, SF0.

Damn it you made me lose again. You can only win by telling the British Prime minister about the game.

I have never heard of RickRolling (that was funny thought!), but this praxis made me loose the game. Who started it and when? I only thought people played it in the UK...
