What goes in trees? Boots? Books? Bowling balls?

No.

Fruit, of course!

I chose bananas because A) they're cheap and B) I live in Central Ohio, where bananas do not usually grow on trees. Apples or peaches wouldn't turn heads, but bananas in trees should get the attention they deserve. They're also biodegradable and edible, making it nice and eco-friendly.




After picking up a lovely bunch of bananas, we drove to a park with several trails and nice patches of wood: perfect for hiding things in trees.



We picked a trail and headed out with our camera and bag of bananas.

The first stretch of the trail was weirdly busy, for October. There was much sitting on benches, waiting furtively for people to pass by. Eventually we found a tree directly across from a bench, waited until the coast was clear, and darted over to place Banana #1.

The perfect spot for Banana #2 was also just slightly off
the path, a little down the way from Banana #1.Off the path, further back in the woods, the forked tree just called to
me.

The trail took a turn uphill ...



...and the crowd cleared out,
making it far easier to place Bananas #3 and #4.

My husband, who drove along and carried the bag of fruit for me,
started to get into the spirit of things, dodging off the path into the woods
to place Banana #5.

Banana #6 turned out to be very photogenic, while #7 sat
pretty and #8 blended in very well.

Banana #9 was too fun to pass up.

The final banana reclined like a queen in the hollow of a
screened-in fallen tree.

With the tenth banana placed and photographed, we headed
back down the trail, stopping only to snack on an eleventh banana (too bad it
was so green!)
