Tasks / Do The Albert Ellis.

This task is retired.

Albert Ellis, (father of REBT and grandfather of CBT) was known for his unusual therapeutic interventions. For example:
1.) For clients who were afraid of looking foolish in public, he prescribed walking a banana on a leash for a week.
2.) To combat his own fear of asking women out, he once stood on a crowded street and asked out every single woman who walked past for an entire weekend. He did not get a date, but he lost that particular social phobia.

Fight your fear with the weapons of ridiculosity and exposure.
Engage in a ridiculous activity for an extended period to overcome a personal issue. Do not stop until you are over it.

*SSI are entreated to approve this task in honor of Bex's Mastering the Science of Clinical Psychology and to increase the representation of tasks for therapy/psychology nerds.

I danced at an all girl's college. Still, I only danced with people who asked me, not once vice versa. ~Waldo +2
