Rediscover Non-Sexual Touch by *la nerdrice*

I swam with babies today. I do that every week as I am a babyswimming instructor, but today was one of the really special days, one of the smiling days. We used little cups to take some water and pour it back into the pool in front of the babies so that they can touch it. The looks on their faces when they see that - something is right there and not there at the same time, they can touch it but they can never hold it - these looks are just beautiful. Sheer excitement and joy.
At some point most of us lose that joy, well, I don't think we actually lose it, we just forget about it as there are so many other interesting things to touch and to explore. I want to revive my joy of touching water.
Whilst letting water run through my fingers and into the bowl the old almost forgotten question came back to my mind: How come stones feel and look so differently when in water? And why do I love wet stones so much more? Is it the addition of my love for both?
