Find Roof Access by Idøntity matrix

April 10th, 2011 10:52 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Find roof access.

Since my character looks a lot like someone I know, I am going to leave the exact building location a mystery but it is at the U of M.

It started like this: Service Workers enter a janitorial closet one at a time and disappear. As yet another goes in, I walk past (all nonchalant like) and get a good look in. It is a 3ft by 3ft closet with a mop bucket and oh yes...a ladder. That is how they vanish.

Every time after that, when I had the chance I checked the door and it was locked. Then it started. Painters working in the building and using blue masking tape on the door jams to keep the doors from locking. Here is my chance.

To get to the roof, you must get in the building. Here is a nice nondescript entrance.

Big Brother watches. Just pretend your supposed to be here.

climb, turn left, repeat.

A little hard to see what is going on here but this is looking from the bright hall into the open door of the dark closet centered around the blue masking tape that made it all possible.

Looking upward from the Janitor's closet. At this point, I am guessing the trap door leads to the roof but look at that inviting crawl space.

Through the rabbit hole.

Turns out there are catwalks that crisscross the whole "attic" with room to stand in most places and lots to explore.

Flash didn't go off but I found a dollar. No wonder with all the up down over under pipes, ducts, wires and rails.

That is the backside of a ceiling light in someones office. Just off the catwalk is the topside of stucco ceilings. Several times I could here people talking and at one point smell food. I'm guessing Lasagna. I'm hungry but quiet. oh yeah, don't touch those bare wires.

At the opposite side of the attic, another stair and trap door.

A 1.2 GHZ Yagi-Uda with folded dipole driven element coupled through a frequency translator to to a vertically polarized 45 degree phased array. Obviously a link in the alien cloaking network.

The localizer downlink for the alien cloaking network.

This is where I would have ended up if I had come straight up the ladder instead of the scenic route through the catwalks.
