INSTRUCTIONS: Feed something that scares you.

While we sleep, they hunt in the night and feed on flesh. They are nocturnal predators rarely seen as more than movement in a shadow. Why are children afraid of the dark? Why are you? Generations of evolution condition us to survive. Shun the unknown or perish. YET for task, I walk alone into the night and make sacrifice. My offering is chicken quarters, tied to a pipe driven in the ground. As I went about setting up the camera and laying out the bait, I could feel the eyes piercing from the deep in the wild where beast is king and man a trespasser...

after...

Well its not so scary. In fact he's a little cute. But who knows what beast of the wild waits patiently until the next time. It is the unknown that scares me and my paranoia that I truly feed.

My little LED headlight is all that protects me. The hammer is a decent weapon too.

Notice he has been hanging out for over three hours before he actually touches the chicken. I think every time the flash went off he had to get up his nerve again.

Check out the orbs. Maybe the living isn't what we need to be afraid of.

This one is spot. What makes a 6 inch scar on the side of a fox? I wonder if he can be tamed?

No comments yet? Let me say then that while the creature you actually encountered may not be utterly scary, I think you excel at the feeding and documentation parts.

Thanks,
That is so kind.
I still have the camera up trying different positions but now am putting out dog food. I'm hoping for scary but just keep getting foxes. One has a scar and I've named him Spot.
