Edit -- I am terrible at this. I picked Dax first, and then realized he was the person giving up the crown... then I picked Ink Tea, who is in Minnesota, a cousin of only the most tenuous relation to Chicago. Having embarrassed myself twice so far, I'll cast a vote in homage to Mr. O, whose Not The Intended Use was the first praxis I ever read.

Sure, zer0gee or one of the Cakers are most likely to win, and Morte has also made good time out of the gate. But, in contests like this, there's something to be said for a long-shot with a high payout. My money's on Fox Glove.
In games of chance, I constantly find myself making bets designed to interest my opponents rather than to beat them. It is more or less a tautology that a sound bet is a boring bet. As you might imagine, I fare rather poorly at such games.
Hmmm - I see that CG0 is an open enrollment group. Wonder if Lincoln would split the pot with me in exchange for rigging the game at the critical moment?
I agree with your bet-making theory, and have done the same (kinda). But instead of interesting my opponents I used my vote to shine a little (tiny) spotlight on one of my favorite players. And Loki, I'm in.
My hope is that zer0gee will take the crown! It was at her Steampunk Scavenger Hunt that I first met Dax and was introduced to SFZero. It will come round in a nice circle. But good luck to all!

To reiterate privately-expressed sentiments: as I have been working on collaborative praxis with more than one serious contender and personally dislike voting based on anything other than the praxis at hand and the availability of points to distribute from my personal stash, I am pretending for all intents and purposes that both this bet and the crowning are not happening. (This statement excepted, obviously, neener, yes, whatever.)
