Counting by Sarah

February 14th, 2012 10:51 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Count or measure something that has never been counted or measured before. How many CDs can you label with one sharpie? How long does it take for all the ketchup to run out of the bottle? How many times does a trafic light change in an hour? How many licks does it taket to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

What do you wonder about? Find out and let us know.

For this task, I decided to use ordinary objects so I just picked two things I had on my desk (pencils and a water bottle). How many pencils' shavings (sharpened by hand) will it take to fill up a water bottle?

This is how everything looked at the beginning (yes I was eating Oreos)

This is how disgusting my hand got (it actually took me five sittings to completely fill the bottle because I was getting blisters on my fingers, so this is my hand after one time)

And this is the final product:

A: Eleven.
