Babel Redux by Fonne Tayne
May 25th, 2007 2:29 AM
Little did I know that when provoked, the constables of the forest retaliate in greater numbers than I, lowly uRbin star ze t, could ever muster. This afternoon, as I do most days when the rain isn't unbearable, I meandered through the canvastrees towards my house. Unfortunately I noticed that one of my tasks - which I have to say I enjoyed a great deal - had been hit up by individuals of some notoriety.
By that I mean erased. I hope you're all aware that this machine is now in wide use.
I was worried this would happen, mainly because I read the patent journals. Intellectual property is a hot topic here in the bay, if you've never visited.
As a gesture of my brimming emotion, I decided to redo the task... for the benefit of all. However, since I myself had specified that this Redux task requires using another language, I realized that I'd have to change something about the way it would be communicated.
Instead of cardboard, a more durable (and at least in my particular case trying to make an indigenous face using a oversized fire-pencil) and manageable material, I resorted to plastic. (thanks again Flax!!!) You'll see my tools in the pictures below and the outcome.... Say what you will but it's definitely working in a whole 'nother idiom.
It was done in a bit of a hurry today, as I wanted the constables to see the consequences of their actions... but by now I'm a little sleepy to go too nuts on this one.
[p.s. that includes photoshop laziness... no red-tone removal at home......]
Below you'll see some hurried nighttime shots and also yrs truly at play. Sleep tight...
UPDATE
wow i'm ashamed at the illegibility of that in the photo. i'll try and grab another one soon.
in the meantime, here are the lyrics:
c'etait l'epopee de graffiti
qui imposait son regne
et la ville etait recouvert
avant qu'on
ne comprenne
BONUS POINTS si me pourriez dire d'où vient les parties responsables, les brillantes qui l'inspirent....
