Art gone postal by Blue, Kristen Rutherford

September 5th, 2007 9:54 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Make a piece of art…
Apply proper postage.
Mail it to The Envelope Collective

I am collaborating with Koyâh on this task.

This is what I brought to the post office.

How it ends up when the journey is finished is up to complete strangers. Farewell Hollywood Screwballs! Cute will only get you so far in this world...

Update May 21st — Koyâh

Ugh…
I forgot my ID so I had to go to the post office twice to pick up this package. The first time the wait was a half hour the second time it was an hour. I have had a long history of messing with the post office. So I knew from the way the lady was eyeing the slips that I was going to have to sign my player name and asign myself as an Authorized Agent to pick up the package. Like I was going to explain how it was a player name or try and pull it off as a nikname.

Anyways… the second time I went to get the package the guy in line with me(pictured below) was there to pick up a package of Absïnthe that had been mailed to him from a fiend in chekløslavakïa. (an act that has inspired the proposal of the task "Stick it to the man!" ) He explained that absinthe was illegal and I explained why it became illegal and how it came back. While we were speaking of tangents he mentioned the woman he was standing with in line who was from czêchloslavakîa where, she says, "the post office is really busy; but all the workers work really quickly and efficiently.

So now it is in my hands. I will save all future documentation until the package is recieved so that it is a complete suprise.
