Only one corner is attached to anything meaningful (the White House). The other four corners aren't anything important, according to the map. Two traffic circles, a corner near GWU, and... ? I could probably draw one on the map of my hometown, but if the points are simply arbitrary designations put there to create the shape, does it have meaning?
I guess some people are simply okay with city streets designed in such a way that an obscure religious symbol points to one of the main branches of government. And the fact that it is never publicly discussed explained or even acknowledged (as far as I can tell.) Just so long as the other points aren't 'that important' (each point is home to a monument) it couldn't have any real significance; right?
What's needed is a portmanteau of the words "creepy", and "goofy".
I suggest either "geepy", or "croofy".
I love portmanteaux probably as much as eye love homophones!
