Donation by Other Means by Herbie Hatman

February 17th, 2008 9:59 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Get people to donate a face (in the form of a photograph or otherwise) to SFZero. We will use these resources to fuel our war machine and supply resources to those most in need.

St. Louis.
House Party.
2.16.08
11:30 to approx. 11:50 pm.

"Hey... Could I ask a favor? I need your face for a project. It's called SF0. I need you to look at the camera straight faced.... Thanks. Perfect."

38 faces in about twenty minutes. (Everyone said yes after a little coaxing). I didn't post a few of the photos due to people overtly smiling or making an odd face.

I like how they're coupled. I start drawing conclusions based on some inferred meaning behind the (most likely) random pairings. Like they're sets.

I made up a whole story about young girl with freckles and man with tattoo on neck and sunglasses.

Some of these people look familiar, somehow...

I had that same feeling. I know somebody who looks an awful lot like that guy five down on the right.

I like the jagged line above 13-Right's eye

You mean five down on the left? Because five down on the right is a lady. Or do you mean stage right?

I meant dyslexic right, which can be left or right depending on the moment. In normal person speak, I meant left both times.

This is great. Such characters!
I will be using these for help on drawing faces proportionately.
I have been needing faces! You have fueled my Sketch Machine.
