Public Sign Makeover by Herbie Hatman, Myrna Minx

December 31st, 2007 12:52 PM / Location: 37.767012,-122.4034

INSTRUCTIONS: Totally replace a public sign (the bigger the better) with a modified version.

After accomplishing the tramp bouquet task, and then placing the nosegay in a stranger's mailbox before we could document it, our minds were on growth. We had described the architecture in terms on colonies of insects. We had liberated a lawn mower and made a valentine in a baseball field. Our imaginative eyes were wide open when we casually passed by an average parking lot.

"Looks like it ought to be rows of vegetables."

There it was. Rows of little signs saying "reserved for someone who feels important".

We saw a garden with vegetables which had not yet come up. We resolved that we ought to share our perception with the rest of the passersby.

The next evening we came back with the two simple tools which we would need and accomplished the manifestation of our imagination.

Thirteen signs changed all in all.

Lettuce, peas, spinach, cucumber, rutabaga, beets, potato, leeks, onions, kale, zucchini, pumpkin, carrots, broccoli.

Is that the Kink.com parking lot?

I don't believe the signs... looks like El Distrito Mision.

Perfect! The parking lot as garden. I wonder if any of the parkers noticed the change.

What's all this about porn?

So simple, yet so perfect!

Well done on completing the Tramp Bouquet task as well.
