INSTRUCTIONS: Photograph a most normal, pedestrian view of the world around you. Crop the photo down to a distinct and beautiful vision. Show us the difference.

I had to do this task immediately.

Here are my pictures:

I wonder if anyone recognizes the common contextual theme for these shots before looking at the larger photos below...

And yes, my apologies to the real photographers out there, A) for my attempts at being an artsy novice, and B) for constantly using such a crappy excuse for a camera. I had fun and learned a lot by doing this task, though.

I gave the reduced pics dada titles.

UPDATE 10/16/07:

In the spirit of tending the living garden of my tasks, I have updated this one by rotating some of the final images into what I feel are more evocative positions. I hadn't done any rotating originally. You can see the position of each final image in the larger picture from which it's cropped.

Enjoy!

The rotating really ties the piece together.

the first one is my favorite,
haunting,
like a ghost woman,
from my dreams who drags me off to her ghost castle and locks me in the ghost dungeon and brings her ghost riding crop and....

um....
.....
yeah... that one's my favorite.
