INSTRUCTIONS: Rearrage books on either your or someone else's bookshelf to tell a story, write haiku, or make a statement. The inspiration for this task is the most whimsical of artists, Nina Katchadourian. More examples there.

This is my first task completion to be posted as a RESIDENT OF SAN FRANCISCO!

And so, in that spirit, I completed this task in San Francisco style. And also, as per my usual M.O., I did a lot.

It was anna one who turned me on to City Lights bookstore. I checked it out a few weeks ago on the same day I visited the Two Towers, Coit and Sutro. It was nice to see said establishment get more love here.

I went up to the Poetry Room at City Lights, spent a couple of hours going through all the books and writing down the titles that struck me, and proceeded to make poems out of the titles of these books of poetry. I had to make two trips because there was so much poetry to be made. I was there so long that on the second day, a patron asked me where to find Bukowski. I was honored to misdirect him.

Hope you like what I was able to come up with. The Beats get their due. I may go back for more.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. I actually took a couple pictures of the poetry room (showcased in my A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words task). And funny that you submit this today because I am currently chopping up a Ginsberg poem as I type.... Muahahah.

supervote would be awarded on the basis of writing good poetry, not using your own reading collection and the superlative choice of city lights bookstore. the angels are smiling and blowing their trumpets.
