We took apart a dot matrix printer.

Dot Matrix refers to the way the printer creates characters or images on paper. This is done by several tiny pins, aligned in a column, striking an ink ribbon positioned between the pins and the paper, creating dots on the paper. Characters are composed of patterns of these dots by moving the printhead laterally across the page in very small increments.

Halfway through the dismantling process, I discovered a spider in the machine. I wonder how he helped to make the printer work?

The next two pictures are all the bits of the printer laid out together.

And a close-up of the smaller bits.

Using the bits of the printer, we made various scenes for Mr and Mrs Lego.

Here you can see them rowing down the river. How romantic!

Then they went to the gym. Mr Lego is on the rowing machine, Mrs Lego is on the running machine.

Finally, Mrs Lego plucked a bouquet of flowers for Mr Lego by the fountain in the microchip garden. True love!

But wait! There's more! The bits of printer got made into something else, which you can see here.
