Clever Vandalism by Rather Dashing, Killah Diamonds

Vandalize cleverly, I thought. Hmmmm.
...and then i spent 4 hours in the middle of a rainy night in the gardens at UNCC, and found myself pondering the usefulness of this voting-style thing they have in the states called 'Homecoming'. Where lies the point? I wondered. Is it really worth instilling egregious feelings into the majority to nominate the few well-liked to further popularity? Where lies the true meaning behind all of it? I continued to think. Where will I sleep if they've locked the gate to my apartment on me? I further wondered.
Existentialism aside, when I saw all these "vote so-and-so for homecoming queen, and so-and so for homecoming king!" signs, sidewalk chalkings, and flyers covering our normally clean campus, I leapt into action. With the assistance of a good friend I roped into it, I quickly made up some posters of Yasser Arafat, Pikachu, and Arnold Schwarzenegger for homecoming king; Shamelessly and somewhat subtley, but promoting
the awesomeness that is sf0 on the footer of each one. Sorry about the quality on some of these - I'm not a very effective print-screener.

After these three creations, I felt like I needed some representation from someone without a Y chromosome. Although Pikachu is questionable, Arnold and Yasser clearly have testosterone abound, especially the former.
Which was when I decided to bring a friend I had recently met in a Literature class into the fold, a cool cat who had been excited about sf0 from the moment I had told her about reverse shoplifting. After spamming her enough to make her sign up out of spite, she met with me at the school library (to think we used the establishment itself as a means to satirize its own workings) and she created 2 more:

Yes, I am speaking of the one, the only, Killah Diamonds.
And so, as you can see from the pictures below, we printed them off later that night and posted them all over campus! I'll try to get pictures of people's reactions in the days to come (although it may just be them looking at them, i dont expect them to do much more than glance...) but that's all for now!
final notes: we totally blew off a big portfolio project due the next day just for the opportunity... so it was a late night! But so worth it. so, so worth it. oh and honourable mention: Crazy Child is awesome, and would have participated in the adventures if she could have!
update: currently 1 am, my hands are frozen and i can barely type, but adventures were had and they're all up. Check out the pics! Also, we saw a fire in a cigarette butt thing. It was pretty cool. We had yet another random friend come along for a few pictures of the both of us. conclusion: success!
Update 2: Today, as you may see in the pictures, many of the ones we put up were gone. The way I see it: either people love them and love adopting them into their rooms and lives and hearts, or we've come across as annoying or unnecessary.
The solution, you ask? well, I put 12x5x7 cents on my credit card just to print of 12 more copies (of 5 different posters, at 7 cents each.) So tonight will be both the king of nights and the night of kings, as we plaster the campus with our campaign! Of course, we'll be more strategic and put them in similar places as the ones that didnt get taken down, such as doorways and message boards, and not on things like... other people's campaigns or newspaper dispensing boxes. We're gonna win, and we're gonna win fair and square. More later, brave interweb patrons.
Final Update: Today we went back and distributed far more, with only friday left in terms of classes before the homecoming extravaganza was over. Pictures abound! We even did clever things like post one under an umbrella so it resurfaces in the summer, and make a happy face over that same 'maddy 4 queen' ad. In short, it was clever vandalism. Case closed!

If you're more than a little clever, you'll coax out "Physical representation of a Virtual Occurrence" from this one.
Nice work guys. Impressive.
