Time (and medical attention) Heals All Wounds by Tricia Tanaka

March 27th, 2008 9:58 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Document a wound* as it heals, spending at least 4 days watching its progress. It can be on you or someone/something else. It must be a physical wound in the form of a bruise, a cut, a scratch, a burn, or something else that takes days to heal. No tiny hangnails unless they are impressively slow to heal and interesting to watch as they heal.

For bonus points, have acquired the wound doing something for SF0.

For extra-super bonus points, use leeches to promote circulation or maggots to eat away any dead flesh.

*Please do not cause this wound intentionally.

I thought I wasn't going to be able to submit to this task, but then I read the line " or something else that takes days to heal".
This didn't take days. It took weeks.
Normally Shingles shows up only once you get old, but in special cases (such as mine), you can get it when you're younger if you had Chicken Pox before the age of one.
Just so you grasp the irony of the situation: The Vaccine for chicken pox was available two months after I got it.
And so you grasp the dream-irony of the situation: A day before it started showing up, I dreamed I was on a spaceship where a bunch of people were in infected with what they called "The Pox".
Yeah.

The doctor said mine's the worst case he's ever seen.
Luckily it wasn't on my face, though. They can spread to your brain. Ooooo..

Good enough for a "viral rashes for dummies" picture book.
And, dude, are you good with adjectives or what?

Oh jesus! Vote for will power...I don't know how I could retain my sanity through a healing process like that.
