Wear Your Art As Your Sleeve by artmouse
July 22nd, 2010 5:58 PM / Location: 37.872075,-122.2577While I do not always attend the U of A, an approximate third of my tasks fall within their jurisdiction, I must admit my true pride correlates my participation in the curriculum of a more 'tangible' university:

This past May I had the privilege of graduating from this glorious university and the opportunity to don the associated attire.

__
And though I have but a modest list I can claim to on my profile here...

High Scores have always been among my most coveted accomplishments.
__
For this task I found outfitting my cap to be a more suiting and useful expression of my allegiances:

Worn, of course, to both my Integrative Biology commencement where it aided in identifying me among the 300+ graduates ...

My, what lovely guests I had in attendance! :)
... as well as my Art Practice commencement (where i couldn't believe no one else decorated their caps!)

Hooray even more lovely guests!
~~~
To present this accomplishment as something a tad more permanent I've made a few preparations
I traced the coveted SFØ fleur,
figured out my own primitive form of image transfer,
sanitized and prepped my equipment,
accomplished the procedure...
and finalized the whole process with the (sanitary) ash of a Lucky Strike (this part's for you, Grandma Heidi! Love you always.)
ashy wound:
{{ further images of the procedure can be viewed below }}
many many thanks again to CRPP for the excellent documentation as well as assistance!
Et voilà! The Art of High Score Tasking - Now My Worn as My Sleeve.
this is after one day of healing, we shall soon see how it ages!
Update: A few days later and it's healing well - though the ash didn't take! it'll be easier to make the appropriate depth of cut this next round given i have a more permanent outline of the design to work with :)
oh don't worry i'll just rub my scar all over you !
then you will be full of win too!
Speaking of rubbing things all over me, when is this bike ride going to happen?
unable to watch video... but looked at all still imaged without getting woozie.
makes me want another tattoo.... and to see you.
much missing.
yeah, this wasn't meant to come off as such a 'shock and awe' phenomenon - i've been meaning to complete this for at least two years but they don't exactly sell medical grade scalpels in stores :\
are there really that many persons affronted by the sight of blood? perhaps tattooing really is my calling, ha!
plus: long distance hugs
OoOoOoOo
(large & small)
I can handle looking at other people's blood, seeing my own freaks me defuggout.
Hey! Wouldja lookit that!
A fleur to match your fleur.
Awesome! How?
image transfer or ash application??
(consequently, the ash pushed itself out with the initial healing - so with the current scar as a better guide i'll be able to make deeper and more sure cuts, hopefully then securing the permanence of the ash!)
Too bad I fall into the category of the faint of heart who actually want to look. When I see you next, you'll have to show me it. Very awesome, and you'll have to pardon me if i'm a bit hesitant to touch it next time we see each other.
