Naked Mail by Ntan McNunofurbizwax, Poisøn Lake, anna one, Spidere, Charlie Fish, miss understanding, artmouse, saille is planting praxis, Rin Brooker, Monkey Hero
February 11th, 2010 10:33 AMSure, there's Naked Mail... but what about a Naked Mail Swap??
Everyone was assigned another player to secretly naked mail- here follows the aftermath:
Ntan McNunofurbizwax:

I received my naked mail. If I had to guess who sent it to me, I'd say.....saille
-Ntan
anna one:

Lincøln:
I got a double fail. I didn't get anything in the mail and I never got my item off. I got refused by five post offices when trying to send my original item, and when I finally decided to switch items, I got tied up in my crazy winter work schedule and couldn't get to a post office in the daytime. So I'm going to have to drop out as trying to send it now, and wait for it to arrive would add unnecessary time onto an already overdue task. Maybe someday I'll share my pictures of what I tried to do with all of you. Maybe even in praxis.
Charlie Fish:
Hmm... it's been months now, so it looks like mine's a double fail. I didn't receive any naked mail, and my item of naked mail doesn't seem to have been received. :(
miss understanding:
Sadly, I have not received my naked mail. I wonder if it has retreated to the same world that left socks go to when they decide it's time to visit the big washer in the sky.

ⓜoustache ⓔnvy & Monkey Hero:
the day before i leave for French Polynesia: what shows up at my doorstep but the most amazing & useful mail I have ever had the privilege to receive!

the thank you mail i sent:

a member of the Salticidae family
My attempts at sending my naked mail to my assignment obviously were unsuccessful, despite the hard work and perseverance of Monkey Hero, who carried on these attempts while i was overseas.
_
saille is planting praxis:
On my very birthday, I received in the mail one totally awesome tape-mummy Godzilla/alligator plushie. I actually had no idea until checking the praxis that there was, in fact, a Hello Kitty under the barely translucent tape, because it has been sitting at a place of honour on my desk with all the tape and addressing and postmarks still on its back. I think I shall keep it that way.

_
Rin Brooker:
I got a purple dinosaur, but not Barney. This one is small and screams when you poke it in private areas.... who would send such a thing?
Spidere:
I received a mysterious box:

And a package from the orient:

Inside the box were mysterious organic pieces:

When assembled, a fearsome creature was created!

A beast from San Francisco, with the SNIDE logo so clearly displayed...it seems like the work of anna one...

i sent the duck in a bottle, but I never found out who sent me the rubik's cube.
So I guess the dino wasn't Ntan!
I sent the snapping notebook to Crazy Child but I guess it didn't get there.
I guess I'm pretty easy to figure, although I'd wager Spidere has a little extra info. The flat-packed insect puzzle was the find of another player who hasn't started playing yet. It was pretty close to participating in a task. I'm still working on it, though. It'll happen. Conversion always happens in the end.
Ack! This is what I get for changing my email and not getting around to updating it everywhere--I fall out of the loop. Saille, I am not sure if I let you know or not, but I am the one who sent you the mysterious Godzilla Hello Kitty.
I attempted to send the vibrator disguised as Sutro Tower to Lincoln.
the first post office i tried to send it from, the ladies working the counter thought it was a rocket, it was really hard not to laugh!
they refused to send it though, claiming it would damage the other mail o_o
monkey hero tried really hard and went to at least four other post offices before just trying the 'real address as return address' trick and dropping it in a mailbox with a shit ton of postage stamps... i should have told him to wait for his visit to LA - it might actually have worked in that case.
i would like to think it's sitting on a shelf of 'wtf' items in the local mail sorting facility.
vote for trying to mail a vibrator and making me laugh.
Awesome. Rubber ducky in Nalgene, tape mummy Godzilla, gift bearing jumping spider, disassembled alien in a box, vibrator rocket, rubber spiky fish... I can't choose the best part, because the best part is that this Naked Mail Swap is awesome.
I would vote for this for the sutro vibrator alone, if I could.
Also, I sent the Cube. For the curious about unconfessed objects, there is an only slightly tricksy way of seeing who posted 'before sending' pictures, which is even less tricksy if one uses Chrome. (YAY sf0 works in Chrome! Nothing I need for work does!)
Holy crap! does that mean I guessed correctly?
I kept wondering if the collection of objects would spell out a secret message if unscrambled.
Finally you can see my missing piece of the puzzle.
Still, I wish I'd gotten that giant Sutro Dildo.
It may not surprise you to learn that the item I sent (which sadly never reached its destination) was the fish.
