What should I be thanking someone for? Well, I do have a great deal of appreciation for those who take the time to read thank you signs. Especially if the sign is very difficult to read. Or those who take the time to read signs at all, especially if they have to go out of their way. Curiosity is a good quality to have, and worthy of appreciation, I think.
Posted outside my building: A very small sign with very small print that reads: "Thank you for your curiosity. It makes the world a better place!"
I stealthily staked out this location to see who might be curious enough to be a recipient of my thank you.
One large cup of coffee later, and the curiosity was severely lacking. Whereas I thought a high traffic time of day might be optimal, everyone seemed far too rushed to get to where they were going to take a moment for a bit of "hmm I wonder what that sign says."
It's still there, so I'll just assume that someone will read it eventually. If the elements aren't curious enough to destroy it first.

Close-Up: A Thank You Sign.

From up close, readable: "Thank you for your curiosity. It makes the world a better place!"
