Keep Marching On by Rin Brooker
January 21st, 2009 9:56 PMgift card

This gift card has been in my wallet since I was 15. That summer I ran away from home and used this gift card to buy a soda and McDonalds as I tried to escape, there's only 12 cents left on it.
sales notes

These were also in my wallet for a long time, since I lived in japan in fact. I was never able to read them but I always remembered what they were for.
bracelet

from the time i had to go to the hospital in Oregon. It was they worst day of my life for a long time, I kept the bracelet to remind myself it could be worse. I threw it away.
gaia

I'm a pack rat and I put hundreds of hours into this game but I haven't played it in a year. I gave away all of my stuff (several million gold worth) and logged off gaia for the last time. Any nerd will tell you, that was hard after so long.

You were on Gaia? Wish I had known. I'm on it and they've got this silly RPG going on right now called Zomg. It's fun but I don't have a lot of friends because, well, I'm an intelligent adult. *sigh* Too bad you left....
Yay for Gaia.
I used to work for the G.E.N. back when price guides had to be maintained by hand. Good times.
Don't really log on that much anymore, but I do like to pop in and check out the holiday events.
THE REASON FOR HUMAN ATTACHMENT TO MATERIAL OBJECTS BEGINS TO BECOME CLEAR.
DISPOSING OF THE EPHEMERA IS ALMOST THE ACT OF DISPOSING OF MEMORIES THEMSELVES.
MKII ROBOT WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS CAPABILITY.
The stories are all amazing. And kudos on leaving! I used to play an mmorpg for 3 years and i racked up 1 year of game time about(and i played about the least out of everyone on there and got yelled at by all of them for not playing more) but yeah i know how bad an addiction to that as so kudos!
Interesting how by destroying these memory triggering items, you have told a bit of the story to a wider audience. It's like these bits of your past are now distributed among us all.
Nice work. Every one of those things was well thought out and meaningful.
