I Was a Teenage Spokesmodel. by GYØ Ben, Adam, Tøm

July 1st, 2007 1:23 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Create packaging for a grocery store item. Add yourself or someone else to the package as the Spokesmodel. Example: Rubin Starset the Finished product should be authentic enough to deceive a consumer into purchasing the item. Either apply your new label in-store, or return the product to the shelf after modifications.

NOTE: Please be sanitary with any food items you repackage. If a lite brite can be seen a terrorism, spreading botulism will definitely put you in jail!

On the day before our Task Day Adam walked down to his local shop to purchase some cans to relabel. With the limited choice he chose Chicken Soup, Tinned Ham, Chopped Spinach and Green Giant Sweetcorn. Next I measured up all the labels using a ruler and made image documents the right size and designed some labels. Which I printed out. I then stuck them to the cans and put them in a bag to take.

After Adam spent several hours carrying the damn things round we decided to go to a Post Office shop, but it was closed, so we went to a corner shop up the road. We snuck in under the pretence of buying two bottles of Pepsi Max which were buy one get one free. Instead we went to the tins shelf, which was in clear view of the counter, put our tins there, bought the pepsi and left.

When I went back later two of the tins were still there but two were gone and when I asked the lady at the till what the tin of spinach was worth. She told me she would give me a quid for it. Brilliant. So I asked her whether she had any idea where they came from. She didn't know but she told me she'd sold the other two. Superb! I didn't buy the spinach though.

Nice! It was cool that you checked back to find out what happened to the cans.

Just when I thought watmuff had gone you pull this outta the bag. I like that you kept the label clear as to what the content was. I'm a bit of stickler for that kinda thing. kudos.
