Player Photo Anagrams by susy derkins

July 29th, 2008 12:35 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Anagram your username or player name using the Internet Anagram Generator (or better yet, do it yourself).

Choose at least one interesting anagram from the list and create a physical representation of it such as a photograph, movie, or sound recording. Share this representation with someone else, but do not tell them the anagram inspired it. Now ask them to give your work a title. Finally, anagram the title, and choose an anagram that might be used to describe your player photograph.

If none of these anagrams feel appropriate, make a physical representation of this second anagram, and repeat the process as many times as you choose - or as many times as it takes to end up with a good anagram for your player photo.

(Zero-meters-from-the-computer tasking, is it better than no tasking at all? I should compensate, anyway).

By means of anagramming, my player name transforms, among others, into:

Dressy I Sunk

Sky Is Red Sun

Sudsy Sinker

Dusky Sirens

I liked Dusky sirens the most. One could argue that I should have done something like the painting of Herbert James Draper (1863 - 1920) but one would be wrong, since I am completely devoid of talent for the visual arts. Some people can paint dusky sirens.

But not me.
I could, however, create audible dusky sirens:

Not quite what Ulysses heard, right.

I sent the sound file to Levitating Potato (and Dok Harmon who happened to be with him) asking for a name and eventually got "it´s someone sounding the frog alarm". I went with Sounding the frog alarm.

Which of course produced a ton of anagrams. Ah, to find one that might be used to describe my player photograph.
OK, but which one? Nah, I don´t have that many.
Well, I am happy to report that I found two anagrams that I think fulfill the task:
Informal Danger Sought
which I think goes well with this player photograph
and
Informal Tangoed Shrug
which it seems to be an accurate description of what sUsY dERkiNs is doing in my current player pic.

Ta da!

Note added in proof:
I found out that my user name, dyctiostelium, anagrams into things like:
City Mouldiest
Idiocy Met Lust
Cute Timidly So
Lucid Yet Moist

which could be interesting subjects for a physical representation (or interesting character descriptions, for that matter!).
But it also becomes
Coitus Mild Yet
My Colitis Duet
My Oculist Diet
Music Yodel Tit

which I really wouldn´t know what to do about.

You may not know what to do with "Idiocy Met Lust" (and googling that exact phrase will only turn up this particular page), but they do.

Anagram-google-mancy, a source of all kinds of fun and/or wisdom.
Thanks for all the votes, everyone, kind of surprising, a slow praxis week, maybe?
I´m thinking this task could be stretched to anagram other players names, as an excuse for homage/gift/supervote/proof-of-status-as-#1-fan.
The idea is submitted therefore Level Zero-able.

(Yes. Much.)

I quite like the tribute version of this task.

Idiocy met lust? Intriguing, but two words shy. . .

I like that you chose to do an audio representation of the phrase.
