I grew up in Kansas. I know what you're thinking and it's true. It has been scientifically proven to be flatter than a pancake. Check it.
I remember as a child going to Baldwin City, KS and taking the "Train to Nowhere", no seriously, check out the "Maple Leaf Special" it has arrival and departure times for Nowhere. Here's a picture of some duder standing in the middle of Nowhere.

I figured theres got to be a place called nowhere somewhere. I know of a Nomansland in the Newforest, but that wasn't good enough.
