Topping the list of things that I have learned about myself in my first few days here: I like step by step photos. A lot.
It's like an improvisational comic book or an instruction manual for awesome.
I had to vote for this. If I didn't, you might kill me with your mind.

Selecting materials with a low flash point should help. That way it's not burning at a temperature that will allow it to light other things.
The cool thing about auto-ignition, beside sounding like a car part, is that the whole thing is reaching its flash point at the same time. It doesn't start burning at one end and then burn across the object. It goes up all of a onceness! Poof.

This reminds me very much of saving red heart shaped stickers from Valentine's day when I was about fifteen. I wore a bright red shirt and handed them out on Saint Patrick's Day, remarking at how neat it was that I had found bright green heart stickers. Thankfully the few red green colour blind people I've talked to about this have found it hilarious.
Thank you for sharing the step by step photos of your process. I think your egg is very pretty. You might want to be a little wary, though. Behind all that beauty, I just know it's hiding something.
