Yesterday Me and M went down Whale Chine. She was supposed to be weaving and I was supposed to be painting a Yoga studio, but instead we took a three hour lunch break.

We discovered some pretty neat things down there, so today I got some stuff together and headed back down there for some tasking.



These signs have been there for a few years. The council couldn't afford to keep replacing the steps as the whole lot regularly fell into the sea. Most people ignore them. I never was very good at doing what I'm told.

It was an interesting climb down.



Rope again. Very useful stuff. There's always some helpful person who leaves it there. Hmm. Maybe I should make myself a task: Install some useful rope.

While I was down there I had to photograph this because it was very beautiful. Not relevant to the task in any way, but I thought I'd include a few shots because it is kind of interesting.



It is the wreck of a steel boat, worn away to almost nothing. It is polished by the sea and the sand and has the texture of wood, but shiny. Very beautiful. Like a work of art.



This waterfall actually comes over the cliff almost directly opposite where I work and park up some nights. I had never come this far along before yesterday, so it was an exciting discovery. The cliff is made of rock which is really iron rich so it leaches through and picks up rust.



This is my friend Bob, who joined me for this adventure. He cannot operate a computer, so he is not signed up to SF0. He was, however, my unofficial collaborator on this task.



Because I live in a van, I do not have a bathtub. So Bob is my surf buddy instead of my bath buddy. In the summer I go bodyboarding and he tags along. I tie him onto my shorts on a length of cord and he surfs along behind me. He's very good, can ride most waves without upending. He's been cooped up in the van all winter so he was really glad to get out.

The book in the picture is really good by the way. It's called The Traveller, by John Twelve Hawks. I think it is the kind of book that would be really appreciated by SF0 players. On the cover it says 'The New Da Vinci Code'. I disagree. That, I think, was just a cheap sales ploy. It has mystery, adventure, conspiracy theory (of the more sensible variety), and a world hidden behind this one. Give it a go if you're bored.

'Wait', I hear you cry, 'This task is about graffiti, where is the damn graffiti?'

I'm getting there.



This to me seemed like the ideal stuff for doing graffiti. Natural, will wear off in a week or so, and so shouldn't offend anybody. It is essentially rust disolved in water with maybe a little bit of mud. Paint for me to use just seeping out of the cliff. How kind.



I tried to do a proper graffiti style tag. It kind of worked. Bob wanted in on the action. Nice effort Bob.



I was getting a bit nervous at this point. It is not good to be at the base of a cliff after a soggy type storm, there were loads of fresh mudslides further along. This bit looked pretty stable, but still. We took a couple more pictures and headed off.



Bob was sad the adventure was over. He looked longingly out to sea. He can't wait for the summer and surf season.
