The Imperfections and Beauty of Amateur Street Acting

I decided to put a spin on the (now) traditional street freeze by taking the documentation FIRST PERSON.
I brought along some friends, pretended to be taking their picture, but was really recording a video.
This particular freeze was organized very little by people with very little acting experience.
Plus there aren't a lot of fancy cuts or editing in here, so all of our flaws are apparent. It's more interesting this way, I think.
There's lost of recursive documentation in here too, especially near the end when more people start realizing what's going on.

Enjoy my shadow checking the time and a temporary shot of my hair!
Marvel at our poor coordination and the curses we say under our breath!
Meet my meddling friends!

This is beautiful. I love the way people interacted with you and your friends- particularly there was a moment with two other people with cameras, and the women who helped wipe the ice cream off your friend's arm. Did someone steal your other friend's ice cream cone? Brutal and Brilliant of them!

Nicely done!

Pausing during a photo was a great idea. Not only does it allow for inconspicuous documentation, but also, on seeing a group standing still while taking a photo, it would take at least a few seconds to realize anything is amiss.

From the video, it didn't look as though many folks noticed you, mostly your friends or the other statuary.

at first (before i explained it properly) the idea had some people baffled.
"why would you be taking a picture during a freeze? doesn't a picture freeze everyone?"
which is really why i like it. its as if in taking a picture (freezing an image) i, by some freak interaction with the time-space continuum, froze everyone. i wanted to make a moment last and the universe took me literally.

oh yeah, and most people who were watching me stood outside the field of view of my camera, perhaps thinking they were being respectful :/
here's an alternate view of everything:

Heh.

Actually one of the thoughts in my mind was, what if someone kissed you. Would that be enough to make a statue melt or recoil?

hmmm.
i think it has to be your "true love" for that to work?
this is what the previous evidence under these circumstances would have us believe.
i'm not saying you shouldn't try, though.

report back in a month with objective results.

Would you just stand there if someone came close enough to kiss you?

This conversation has inspired me.

ideally.
but that's not really what you're asking.

if someone were to kiss me in character, I would probably melt and kiss them back. i love being part of storylines.

but a kiss as a non sequitur? i may just have to remain stone.

and of course, this is all assuming i have the street acting skills to pull this off. who knows, though? context is a pretty powerful thing.

I would probably recoil or kiss back- unless it was a friend, I most likely couldn't stay still.

One thing I agree with is that context is very powerful.

"if someone were to kiss me in character, I would probably melt and kiss them back"

vote for eloquence.
