Fortune Not Cookie by miss understanding
January 6th, 2008 12:24 PM"You are already beautiful"-to be placed on fixtures in the beauty product section
"You are not your underwear size"-to be placed on fixtures in, you guessed it, the women's underwear section. It's all about the underwear with me lately. This comes from an essay I wrote in an old blog of mine recalling how I used to gauge myself/my body on what size my underwear was and would fret about someone else seeing the size unless I believed the size to be small enough, as well as my love of Fight Club.
I apologize for the blurriness of the text in the pictures. While I made them large enough to be legible, I also made them as small as possible so that they might have a fighting chance of being there for awhile.
We're in business

It's been a long time since I've used this so my first sheet ended up getting put in the wrong way.
Ready for sticking

I cut them all up and then divided them into two piles, one for each of my pockets.
Round 1

I wasn't sure where I was going to put the first group of stickers until I came upon this tower of underwear. It was a multi-level bin providing me not only with lots of sticker space but with a cover of sorts as well.
Round 1 co.

Again, sorry about the blur. I was too nervous to sit and fiddle with my camera too much, plus I am not sure that would have amounted to a clearer picture anyway.
Adaptation

During round 1, I had a hard time as I was doing the stickers one by one. My nervousness coupled with a "bad hand day" (I have some nerve damage) did not make peeling the backings off one by one easy nor efficient. For round 2, I walked around and peeled them all off and then "loaded" them on to my hand.

HKat-thank you very much, love.
Teary eyes here, a flash of warmth for Kmart shoppers.
Warm sentiments in isle six.:)
You used stickers?
I guess that makes me go "hmm", because it's not reverseable, which I advocate as being important for stuff like this.
It does lead to an interesting conundrum: if it's trivially reversable (by having a slip of paper being thrown out), is it worth doing?
I do like the basic idea, though. :)
Thank you.
The stickers that come out of my sticker maker aren't of the quality that would lead me to believe that anyone will have a hard time taking those stickers down.
Are small things that will exist as they are intended for a short period of time worth it? I believe so. That's the social worker/occasional optimist in me. Not everyone can reach everyone all the time, but most people can reach at least one person for one moment in time. Of course one does have to consider the effort going into whatever project is in question.
You know, you could add something like this to Operation Beautiful.
:)
