Night Photography by mean jeannine

INSTRUCTIONS: Explore your neighborhood in deepest, darkest night.

Share photographs and other impressions of your exploration.

Last night I decided to document my walk to Bob's Javahut.

Here is the whole walk.

This was great because it made me really look at my neighborhood in a different way. I love how all the long dark shadows made everything look so much more dramatic.

On the way to Bob's, I left my camera on the normal setting (without a flash, and sorry my hand isn't more steady). While I was sitting with my coffee, I played with my settings a little bit. So, on the way home I tried out a different filter, so those pictures are more reddish and brighter. It was also interesting to see the same things from a different angle.

Some interesting things on the way: the cat that sits under the tree in front of my house (every night!); an old broken chair that someone put out for the garbage man; an older type car that looked kinda creepy in the moonlight; a tree that seemed to have it's very own light, which made it kinda glowy; all the shiny porch lights.

Thanks! When I take pictures I usually look more at the shapes.

The broken chair is particularly beautiful.
