INSTRUCTIONS: Make a standardized test for other SFZero players to take. It should include a numeric metric for judging their achievement. Get at least three players to take it and include their results in your praxis.

"Paint a great deal of plastic knives in garish colours. Paint your body. Tape the knives to your body so that they are pointing outwards in the manner of a porpentine. Wearing only minimal clothing, leap at another human being who does not expect you, and howl with guttural, bestial abandon. Then, at the last second, run away."

...I'm gonna have to do this one...

Some of the scoring seems quite unifair. One person said 'some huge effing radio tower in Cali' and got full points but another only added an extra 't' to Sutro Tower and you docked them half!

Little albatross is gonna hate me, but you missed one Tricia:

"-the Chrononautic Exploration group...whatever the actual name is"

Exploratorium.

Agreed. Scoring is very arbitrary. I don't mind scoring for your idea of creativity, but I think a certain level of consistency is necessary.

You docked one player for bad grammar and then came up with this doozy yourself: "I originally wanted to join Improv Everywhere, but they're in New York, but then I came across this a couple months back and I've been hooked every since."

Also: "(lol, I created one just like this but it wasn't accepted. 10 points)" You created one? That makes it sound like you only created one.

Doesn't to me, Lincoln... I see it as one of many.

Also, it's actually quite hard to run an SFZEROSAT. Votes for doing it, in the first place, and not being intimidated by the hyooj one laying in wait.

Well, I'm going to bask in the high score while it lasts. :: grins ::

No worries, just pointing out the marking :)

I'll admit I always say exploriatum!

The scoring may be debatable, but putting the whole thing together certainly took some effort. And, the questions prompted some quite interesting responses, which makes the whole thing vote-worthy in my book.

I'm particularly drawn to zer0gee's poem, and Mob Steppe's tasks.

Et al, I imagine you already know about this. (Six days which, if you ask me, redeem the entire Garfield franchise.) It makes for a nicely crafted task.

I don't regularly go out on the internet and say "Hi, I'm a noob," but I did this task to be able to put behind me all the research and lurking I was doing. This is also about the time I decided that my goal for this era was a modest level 4 (which I just attained thanks to this task. Thanks guys!). So despite the scoring (zomg i dizerve over 9000 pointz!!11), this task did wonders for me, so I appreciate it, Ms. Shingles.
That wasn't meant to be derogatory.
Now on to level 6.

Loki: wow. i was actually thinking about garfield minus garfield.

but...davis himself taking up those tactics?
damn.
my task just got pre-cuperated.

My favorites:

"Biodome...bio-something
-Humanitarians Gathering for Fun...the yellow one. That's obviously not the name."

"Who are the three founders of SF0?
I have absolutely no idea"

"Give a description of what Badges are for:
I actually have no idea - High scores?"

"5. What is the picture on the SF0 logo of?
Some really effin huge radio tower in Cali"

"6. How many tasks are you allowed to be signed up for at a time?
no idea, havent signed up for a lot of them"

"5. What is the picture on the SF0 logo of?
The Golden Gate Bridge"

"8. Why do you play SF0?
It requires less commitment than actual revolution"

Well then on that note, Tricia...I think you should have included something on pretired tasks on here. Because I've been playing for about a month now and I STILL can't figure out what the hell a pretired task is or where to find them.

(no subject)
posted by Lincøln on April 12th, 2008 1:03 AM

You'll see for yourself what a pretired task is in about two months. Isn't that exciting?

posted by Lainthulu on April 12th, 2008 1:15 AM

Ahh! Exciting and aggravating all at the same time. I hate not knowing things...or to be more specific...I hate not being able to figure things out.

Don't worry, it's real tough to figure out.
But with some clever key word searches in the search box, perhaps you can find the one time I spilled and described exactly how to find pretired tasks. It won't be easy, but with some persistent sleuthing, you can find it.

You weren't the only one, Lincoln. And I wouldn't call it spilling exactly.

Finding pre-tired tasks is easy now with no clever key word searches required.
On the tasks page, at the bottom of the bar of filters on the left is a set of filters called "Task Status". These include :
* active
* retired
* un-scored
* incoming
* outgoing

Choose "un-scored" and you now have a list of just the pre-tired tasks, which you can further filter using the other items above (if you want to list by most recent first, for instance).

Pre-tired tasks are simply tasks that have been submitted but are not approved (either they havent' been considered yet, or they haave been considered and won't be approved).

Apparently I'm not a high enough level for the easy way? In any case...all I got on that list are "active" and "retired." Nothing fancy.
