Secret Wall Tattoos by rongo rongo

August 12th, 2010 3:52 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Be inspired by this website to make some hidden art in a place that is not your own.

To clarify, secretwalltatoos.com displays works of art (paintings and drawings) that lie hidden behind objects such as mirrors, photographs, and paintings. Hiding such art - on the wall, and not in your home or place or business - is your goal

I was in a grim, seedy hotel feeling annoyed by the state of artificial intelligence research and impatient to head out for this year's Harry Potter convention when I realized that I should not pass up the tasking opportunity at hand.

That is a very pretty bird! And you have some nerves of steel!

Thanks! I had people walk by both of the last spots right as I was putting stuff away, but they didn't stop to investigate.

I love the phoenix. And yours is intriguingly abstract, and very elegant. Fitting.

Thank you. I based the design on a tattoo image, but modified it to work with stenciling.

The stencil in the firehose is heavy metal.

Wow, the firehose housing!
I guess I never imagined you 'd task in such a bad-ass style, I mean, going out to get a can of spray paint during an academic meeting? hats way off

Sorry to mislead---the spray paint part was after the meeting, once I'd gotten back to Boston and my personal stash of spray paint. I am not *that* cool :)

I'm in favor of your phoenix.

Thanks. I'm also pro-phoenix. Handy if one is apt to crash and burn with any regularity.
