The key is to grease the wire a bit, so that the sticky marshmallow residue does not build up too much.

Heavy and warm

Turns out that marshmallows are heavier than you'd think, when there's a lot of them. Also, they are very insulative, so they keep your head warm. Plus, they smell good.

Excursion

I set off for lunch and a bit of grocery shopping.

Shopping at Whole Foods

Whole Foods customers and staff seem generally cheerful. Several of them said "nice hat!" and one shopper told her toddler "look over there at the marshmallow hat". One woman asked if she could eat some, but I told her that they weren't organic marshmallows.

Tasty

A nice healthy lunch of fish and vegetables. Which are great to eat, but marshmallows make a fun hat.

Practicalities

I found out that although they are warm, marshmallows make a bad hat because they are easily smooshed. By the end of the lunch and shopping trip, the weight of the hat had compressed the bottom row of marshmallows against the wire frame and nearly cut them through.

Victory

Made a couple people smile and got my Icelandic yogurt and Five spice flavored pressed tofu.
