Circle Time by Pixie

I was woken up by my mother today very early so we wouldn't be late for a very important day. As i tugged on the clothes she'd picked out for me, she flustered around the house in a very agitated manner. She was very nervous for the day to come, because it was the first day of kindergarten.
This was her 15th first day of kindergarten. Her first time around was as a student. She was an aid in a kindergarten class for at least three years (one of which was my first first day of kindergarten) and has been teaching it for 11 years. I told her not to worry. She is made for the job, and is perfect at it. I knew that as soon as the first child walked through the door it was all going to be okay.
The first day of kindergarten for me had some significant differences to my first time round. For one thing, i spend a lot of time working on a secret special surprise for the class. But one thing which my experince had in commen with the 24 other kids there was making a shapes person

We also went on a shapes tour (shapes are pretty big the first week of kindergarten.) The shapes tour is a tour of the school, were there are shapes taped to each of the important places we visit. My mom thinks i'm capable of art, which is why she has me draw on the shapes every year which get taped up around the school

While they went out to recess and ate snack, I franticly worked to finish the secret surprise i planed for them. (though i'd started it last week, random things got in the way of finishing it till just the last minute.)
Then I sat down and read them their special story
(note: you won't get all of it unless you're her or me. Just know that her favorite things ever are volcano's and i wrote her a book which contained both the rainbow castle and the queen of the fish. Also, standard camera disclaimer for the illustrations. You can barley see them but they did take me hours, seeing as i'm not a great artist and so even simple drawings take me more time/effort then people actually capable)
Story time
On the first day of kindergarten Ms. Driscoll was sooooooooo excited! She couldn’t wait to see her class, do the weather dance, make job balloons and shapes people. As she went around preparing, she realized something was missing, something very important. She needed the perfect book to read to her class.
She looked though all of her books. She saw some about the Ocean, about bugs, about volcano's, and some about families. There were counting books, poetry and of course ABC’s. So she closed her eyes, spun in a circle and pointed her finger. She opened her eyes and saw she was pointing to a book entitled “For Ms. Driscoll’s class.” Wow, thought Ms. Driscoll, It’s like the book was written for me! So she opened up the book to the first page....
and fell in! Ms. Driscoll looked around and saw that she was walking on white paper, but as she looked, grass was starting to grow out from the page! She looked up and saw a beautiful blue sky. and birds of all different colors and shapes. She asked them, “Where am I? Where should I go?” They flew in an arrow formation, pointing toward the next page.
On this page she found an ocean. She decided to ask the fish for advice. “Hi fish, I’m Ms. Driscoll, a kindergarten teacher, and I’m looking for my classroom. can you help me?”
The fish formed the word “yes” and gave her a clam shell to ride in. Then they carried her under the sea to the rainbow castle.
The Rainbow castle was a magnificent sight. The fish lead Ms. Driscoll to the queen of the fish, to whom Ms. Driscoll explained her situation: “I think I’m stuck inside a book” said Ms. Driscoll. The queen said, “Well, if that is the case, how did you get in?” Ms. Driscoll replied “well, I think I fell in.” The queen said, “I think there is an ancient poem for a situation like this.” and declared “We will now search the library.”
The library was enormous, full of all kinds of wonders! There were books, scrolls and even the walls had writing all over them. Ms. Driscoll, the queen, and the rest of the fish searched the library till the queen found a poem which seemed to fit the situation.
“You must find a way to fly, beyond the sea and the sky, in such a magnanimous way, that the sky itself will shout Horray, only then you’ll find, the classroom left behind, and then you will see, a book in which you’ll be”.
Ms. Driscoll thanked the queen, found her clam shell, and swam to the surface. Then she started brainstorming how she would find a way to fly. She wondered if she could turn into a bird. Then she thought she needed hands to teach, so decided against it. She thought she would build a flying device in the jungle. And then she had one idea so awesome, that it made her jump up and down with happiness.
She hiked onto the shore and through the jungle, until she was at the very highest point. It was on top of a volcano! She looked inside and saw all of the fiery magma and was a little scared. Then she asked the volcano, “can you please help me fly, see I’m stuck inside of this book and need to get out to see my kindergarten class.” The magma said, “sure, just jump right in. I promise it won’t hurt”
So Ms. Driscoll jumped inside of the volcano and it spouted out a giant spurt of fiery magma, which tickled but didn’t hurt Ms. Driscoll. It took her higher and higher, till she passed the sky and felt her body leave paper and fly onto the floor.
Then she got up to begin her favorite adventure, teaching kindergarten!!! Ms. Driscoll smiled, knowing she’d found the perfect book to read to her students.
Yes, it's a sappy ending. But mom loved it and the kids seemed to love it, which is what matters. There is video, which isn't legal to put up without release forms from everyones parents. (i'm planing to edit it and put up audio when i can seeing as there is someone mentioned who's parent has a restraining order and so their face/name can't be shown. Sorry guys...)
Oh well
Enjoy

exceeding what is usual, proper, necessary, or normal
It's not quiet super much, as super too much love. This is the sort of love I know well.
This is a task I should do, but never have.

I have a video of this, but i can't post it publicly unless i can censor the faces of the children involved. If someone can help me with this, that would be the most awesome
Are all of your pictures... backwards?
