Potted Plant Distribution by Sam Archer

July 11th, 2011 1:38 PM / Location: 37.721238,-122.4520

INSTRUCTIONS: Acquire a small potted plant. Leave the plant in a store, cafe, or a location of your choosing that has lack of potted plants.

In completing this task I wanted to leave a potted plant somewhere that would give it a good chance at a happy life. Meaning someplace where it would get adequate sun and water for survival, and where it was reasonably safe from being disposed of.

I went to Lowes with the idea of getting a hanging potted plant that I could suspend from an overpass somewhere, but that plan was derailed when I saw these awesome wall-mounted potted succulent arrangements. Succulents are pretty well suited to weather the drought months here without watering. And you know what has a lack of potted plants, at least in my neighborhood? TELEPHONE POLES.

I'll try to remember to update this proof in the months to come with status reports.

update 2/16/2012: Plant is doing fantastic.

Seven months later, no care or watering whatsoever, and it's thriving. (Rotate head to view. Stupid camera phone.)

I like this. I shall delay my vote to see how it develops.
