Yeah, let's not ask SSI to beg from us, okay guys?
(LP, the donation drive has been going for literally years. The boys have been saying so- exactly what you suggest is on the site and updated every month on the donate page.) They've got the facts about the server right there in front of us, but with numbers like they are- only 83 out of 239 raised so far this month and a mere 68 last month- the situation seems pretty dire to me. I would move the server too.
I've said it before, if everyone who's an active player pitched just a dollar/month towards the server, it'd be paid. It's easy and painless- you can set up automatic payments so you don't even have to think about it- try it, you'll like it.
I'll believe that when I see it gutted, battered and fried.
Still, pretty spectacularly silly, which in my book is damn good.
I'm looking forward to seeing some completions of this.

I often tell my British friends that I plan on visiting GY next time I'm in the UK. They also give me that same blank face. I respond with this fantastic bit of trivia I discovered via QI:
"Two people killed many of the elderly in Great Yarmouth's Haslemere Home for the Elderly between 1960-61. The first was Gladys Elton (81), who performed a striptease. One resident had a heart attack and another five had to be treated for shock. The second was Harry Meadows (87), who dressed up as Death for a prank, complete with scythe. He knocked at the lounge room window, and beckoned the people inside to come out. Another three people died. The home was shut down in 1961."
Now, that's my kind of people.
